OUR FIRM McLoughlin, Briese & Co. was established in 1987 as a full service tax, accounting, and auditing practice. Since that time, our practice has expanded into specialized fields relating to Real Estate, Import/Export businesses, Non-Profit Organizations, Business Valuations, Mergers and Acquisitions, the Hospitality Industry, Estate, Trust and Gift taxation and planning, and as these services relate to corporations, partnerships, and individuals. OUR PARTNERS ERIC BRIESE has been practicing public accounting in California since 1985 after moving from Iowa where he had been practicing as a CPA with his father. He co-founded the firm in 1987 and continued practicing public accounting until 2001, at which time he decided to join a start-up company to test his entrepreneurial skills and help it to grow. After a successful term as that company's Controller and Director of Operations, he returned to our firm in January, 2004 and reassumed his role as an active partner. Eric holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Iowa State University. He was licensed as a CPA in Iowa in 1982 and in California in 1985. He also obtained the designation as a Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) in 1998, and is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor as well. Eric has served on the board of the Sleepy Hollow Homes Association, a community of about 500 homes here in Marin County, as Treasurer, Vice-President and President. CARROLL W. NG, is a Certified Public Accountant specializing in financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, tax return preparation and consulting services for businesses, non-profit and governmental entities. Ms. Ng has more than 18 years experience in accounting and auditing, with over 15 years in public accounting for local accounting firms. She assumed similar responsibilities for our clients when she joined our firm in July, 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Francisco State University. TERRY McLOUGHLIN (1930 - 2006) was established in the public accounting profession in the Bay Area in 1960. He originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Great Britain before settling in the Bay Area and was granted his license by the California State Board of Accountancy in 1961. He worked with major national and regional accounting firms before developing his own practice.
